Don Jazzy, whose full name is Michael Collins Ajereh, was born on the 26th of November, 1982, in Umuahia, Abia state, to Mr. and Mrs. Collins Enebeli Ajereh. He originally hails from Delta state, Nigeria.
After some years, the Ajereh family relocated to Ajegunle, Lagos state. Don Jazzy attended the Co-educational High School and the Federal Government College, Lagos state.
During this time, he developed a strong interest in music and started playing the bass guitar and piano. After that, Don Jazzy enrolled and graduated with a degree in Business Management from Ambrose Ali University in Ekpoma, Edo state.

Don Jazzy was formerly married to Michelle Jackson in 2003. But he claims that the marriage didn’t last due to his unending ambitions, which led to their divorce two years later.

Don Jazzy and D’banj combined to form Mo’ Hits Records in 2004. After two years, Don Jazzy produced the albums “No Long Thing” and “Rundown/Funk You Up.” During that time, he developed a general introduction, ” It’s Don Jazzy Again.”
In 2008, Don Jazzy got credits for the production of “The Entertainer” by D’banj and Wande Coal’s “Mushin 2 Mo’ Hits”. He has worked with Kanye West as a producer at Very Good Beatz and with Jay Z on the production of “Lift Off.”
In March 2012, Don Jazzy parted ways with fellow musician and friend D’banj.

On the 7th of May, 2012, Don Jazzy created the record label “Mavin Records.” He sought to make the company one of the best in Africa, so he signed many talented and promising artists, such as Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, and Di’ja, among others.
